what happens when you give up? i have been asking myself this for the last few weeks after not successfully reaching my goal to raise the money I needed to self publish my book through Balboa. i must admit to being completely devastated by the public failure.
but then the love came.
people began to write to tell me how seeing me go after my dreams was an inspiration to them. it moved them to action and gave them hope that they too could do the thing that is in their heart. i cannot express how much this gave me perspective and the resolve to continue to press forward.
and so here we are, back to the business of digging deep here at spiritual anthropology. you know, what really makes my heart soar about this blog is that it is about living from the spirit. and sometimes that can be difficult, especially when encountering defeat. but in the great words of Dr. Maya Angelou, "You may encounter defeats, but you must not be defeated."
I needed time to heal, regroup and get back into pursuing the most important task there is-- living with purpose and with the understanding that it's not about me. when i can move beyond my ego, i can see that there is always a greater purpose, one that we cannot even conceive.
when we fail, we are not failures. we just have to continue to get up again and again and again. learn the lessons and move forward.
so that is exactly what I've been doing.
i want to say thank you to all of you who supported me and who wanted to support me but didn't reach the kickstarter deadline. your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. thank you for the love.
i also want to take this time to say thank you to my dearest friend, brother, and business consultant, Xavier Amos. You have been a solid rock and anchor for me. for that i am grateful.
No need to thank me! This is your purpose irregardless of the lack of finances not gained from the kickstarter campaign. This is your season and its up to you and all of your many followers to take pride in being great and owning what is rightfully yours. Your passion met your purpose a long time ago and that is when everyone notice you had a gift. Keep reaching thousands because thatll turn into millions! People are hungry all around the world physically, mentally, but most importantly SPIRITUALLY! Im still digging deep my friend.
